Plaster-based powdered
Plaster-based powdered coating made of gypsum, calcium carbonate, resin, and various additives. It can be used on all types of plasterboards with or without insulation, having tapered edges and paper-covered surfaces.
Advantages
- Ideal in cold and damp weather / Perfect joint finish.
- Multiple choices depending on weather conditions.
- Manual or mechanical application / Well-suited for large projects / Very long working time.
- Exceptional adhesion and no shrinkage after drying.
Coatings
- Primer undercoat for plasterboards.
- Gypsum-based smoothing plaster.
Suitable Substrates
All types of plasterboards with or without insulation (glass wool, rock wool, polystyrene) with tapered edges and paper-covered surfaces.
Composition and Appearance (Valid for all bags)
Powdered plaster made from gypsum, calcium carbonate, resin, and various additives. The obtained paste is white in color.
Technical Definition 30Mn
30Mn plaster with a very fast setting time and very fine particle size, specially formulated for treating joints of plasterboards with tapered edges in combination with a standardized paper joint tape.
Technical Definition 8H
8H plaster is a powdered plaster specifically formulated for jointing plasterboards with tapered edges in combination with a standardized paper joint tape. Working time of the mix: 8 hours, suitable for large projects. Tapes can be applied mechanically.
Technical Definition 24H
24H plaster is a powdered plaster specifically formulated for treating joints of plasterboards with tapered edges in combination with a joint tape. The working time of the mix is 24 hours or more, and it can be applied mechanically or manually.
Precautions for use
- The temperature during application and drying should be between 5 and 30°C.
- Do not apply to damp surfaces.
- Do not use the paste if it has started to harden.
- Do not use on frozen surfaces (24-hour plaster).
- In winter and cold weather, prefer using our 30 MIN setting plaster.
- The combination of this plaster with self-adhesive mesh tape is not recommended and is not provided for in the Technical Approval: a paper tape embedded in the plaster provides greater mechanical reinforcement than a self-adhesive tape applied directly to the board and for which the plaster is only above.
Surface Preparation
- Plasterboards must be fixed according to DTU 25.41.
- Cut edges of boards should be beveled and dusted. (Even in the absence of tapered edges, it is essential to position a tape at the joint level).
Application
Before treatment, fill any gaps between accidentally non-adjacent panels and various fillings (chipping, surface damage, etc.) The application is done manually by "buttering" the tapered edge using a 10 or 15 cm plaster knife and placing the tape (ground side against the plaster). Perform a finishing pass, let dry, and finish to hide the tape. Also, cover screw heads. Apply a tape at the ceiling joint, ensuring the concrete is free from any formwork oil traces. For vertical external angles, use a reinforced tape (reinforcement placed on the complex side) or a metal corner bead.
Drying Time
For the 30Mn plaster, the second layer can be applied 4 hours after the first application. Finishing passes can be done 24 hours after the tape is applied. Between the two finishing layers, allow about 8 hours of drying time for the 8-hour plaster. For the 24-hour plaster, the second.
